We serve the community through a multitude of projects. We have several ongoing activities, and we also make ourselves available for special programs across the year!
Brother Benno's
We have been helping Brother Bennos for 40+ years, serving and feeding the less fortunate. We assist the first Tuesday and fifth Monday of each month with their breakfast. We also conduct coat drives and help in many other ways as needed.
Key Club Sponsor
Key Club is an international service organization for high school students. We work alongside El Camino High School encouraging our 60 members to practice their leadership through serving others.
Active senior members may use the link below to access the Community Service Scholarship Application. We are honored to award 4 committed leaders as they take their next big step to pursue vocational training or post-secondary academics.
B.U.G Program (Bringing Up Grades)
We work alongside 4 elementary schools within the Oceanside School District to recognize students twice a year that have shown growth with Mathematics and Reading. The students that excel the most in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades are awarded an earned Certificate, $25 Gift Card and a Goodie Bag of school supplies.
Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser
Annually we host a Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser with a Silent Auction. All proceeds go towards positively impacting our community, children and families. As well as bringing us all together with the community. Our Key Club members also get involved and shine their leadership light assisting with the production and fundraising.
Community Service Volunteer of the Month
We work with local organizations to identify staff who qualify for recognition for the community service they perform.
Terri Loverro High School Art Contest
An annual event we facilitate celebrating and inspiring High School Artists! Between cash prizes, recognition and the opportunity to share their talents. It has and continues to be an outstanding experience for everyone involved.
We are Downtown Ambassadors with Main Street Oceanside.
The Oceanside Cultural District is home to an emerging art scene. We volunteer at the Oceanside Cultural District Art Walk.
True to our mission, we have very active committees dedicated to child safety, education and support from newborns to teens. For many years, we provided the Neonatal Care Unit at Tri-City Hospital with knitted blankets, caps and booties. We read books to youngsters at a local MAAC Headstart program. We collected and distributed books to clinics and non-profits for their patients and clients. Every year a deserving Mira Costa College student receives a scholarship in honor of Bill Foran, a Kiwanis legend. We support an orphanage and hospital in Mexico, and an international Kiwanis effort with UNICEF to eradicate maternal and neonatal tetanus worldwide. Two signature projects of our Club are Child ID and Beach Fun Day. We have supplied fingerprints and photos of over 20,000 school children to their parents for child safety. Our annual Beach Fun Day is a joyful event that we host for developmentally challenged students in Oceanside- a day at the beach. Food! Entertainment! Pirates! Kite flying! and a harbor cruise!
